Seahawks DE Raheem Brock Convicted For Skipping Out On A $27 Tab At A Philly Restaurant
The Seahawks might have stomped the Eagles last night, but the city of Philadelphia has scored a victory of its own against Seattle's NFL franchise. Raheem Brock, a Philly native and a Temple graduate, was recently sentenced to six months probation in Philly Municipal Court on one count of theft.
Back in June, Brock and a lady friend had walked out after ordering some food, and they were arrested even though they claimed they canceled the order before they left. Philly's arcane, bureaucratic court system does allow Brock to seek a new trial in Common Pleas Court, simply by asking. But Brock's conviction on such a trivial matter led another high-profile defense attorney to tell Philadelphia magazine, "If I lost that case, I would kill myself." No, Brock is not being represented by Joe Amendola. [ Philly mag]
