Shabazz Muhammad Sent Home From Rookie Program For Having Girl In Room
USA Today reports that Timberwoves rookie Shabazz Muhammad was sent home from the NBA's Rookie Transition Program today. Why? Because he had *gasp* a girl in his room, and unauthorized guests are strictly forbidden at the transition program.
Muhammad was sent home after he attempted to bring a female guest into his hotel room on Tuesday night. Now, it's entirely possible that the female in question is a family member or just a friend, but no matter who she is, this all looks pretty silly. Muhammad is an adult, not a 10th grader on a class trip.
Muhammad now joins Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur in the fraternity of players who have been sent home from the transition program (Chalmers and Arthur were busted for getting high in 2008). He will have to come back next year and complete the program with the 2014 rookies. We hope he shows up next year spouting off cool-guy wisdom like Matthew McConaughey in Dazed and Confused.
