Shane Mosley Wanted To Throw In The Towel Against Manny Pacquiao
Mosley has never quit a fight. Hell, he's never lost a fight without going the distance. But here's Sugar Shane, late in his fight against Pacquiao, begging his corner to throw in the towel. ( This Philippine newspaper says it's the tenth round.)
As the video is a teaser for Saturday's final episode of Showtime's series chronicling the fight, we don't have a lot of context beyond it falling somewhere between "Manny Pacquiao had been punching him a lot" and "Manny Pacquiao still had a couple more rounds in which to punch him." But yeah, that's Mosley telling his trainer "you've got to stop the fight."
Thankfully for Mosley's reputation, trainer Naazim Richardson wasn't having it. He got Mosley back on his feet (possibly fighting a blister problem) and sent him back out to get wholly outclassed.
