Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports Shane Wright had two goals and an assist as the Seattle Kraken defeated the host Anaheim Ducks 3-1 Friday night, completing a four-game season sweep of their Pacific Division rivals.
Matty Beniers also scored, Oliver Bjorkstrand contributed two assists and Philipp Grubauer made 15 saves for the Kraken (32-31-13, 77 points), who have won four of their past six games.
Rookie Leo Carlsson scored an unassisted goal and Lukas Dostal stopped 24 of 27 shots for the Ducks (25-48-4, 54 points), who have lost 13 of their past 15 games (2-12-1).
Wright, the fourth overall pick in the 2022 NHL draft, has three goals in three games since being recalled from Coachella Valley of the AHL on Sunday.
Wright opened the scoring at 16:08 of the first period, setting up just outside the top of the crease and tipping Bjorkstrand's wrist shot from the top of the left faceoff circle past Dostal.
Wright tallied again at 2:29 of the second. Linemate Jaden Schwartz corralled the puck behind the Anaheim net and found an open Wright in the slot. Wright snuck a shot between Dostal's body and the right post.
The Kraken made it 3-0 on the power play at 11:40 of the second. Wright got the puck low on the left wing and sent a pass across the top of the crease that deflected off Beniers' skate and between the goalie's pads.
The goal gave Beniers, the reigning Calder Memorial Trophy winner as the league's rookie of the year, his 100th career point.
Carlsson got the Ducks on the board at 16:35 of the middle period. He gathered a loose puck just inside the offensive blue line, put the puck between his own legs to avoid a backchecking Wright and beat Grubauer high inside the far post on a wrist shot from the hashmarks of the right faceoff circle.
