Shawn Marion's Ready To Go Whenever, Coach
Shawn Marion’s on the Cleveland Cavaliers. This might be news to anyone watching the playoffs, since the 37-year-old has logged 25 total minutes in the postseason, none of those coming in the Finals. Since the Cavs’ depth is so shallow, a new Brian Windhorst report asks, why not Marion?
Marion clearly hopped on Cleveland’s campaign because he’s old and cheap, and more power to him if he ends up with a ring. Sources who are definitely not Shawn Marion or his agent, however, insist that a tiny dose of Marion (and Mike Miller) could help relieve part of the burden currently on J.R. Smith, Matthew Dellavedova, and Iman Shumpert:
Several sources said Marion, who already has announced he’ll retire following the season, is especially itching to get a chance. He’s recently been bothered by a calf injury and also dealt with a hip injury in the regular season but is healthy and able to go.
You listening, David Blatt? The Matrix is ready. Just let him know. He’s here. Whenever you need him. Ahem.
