Shirtless, Drunk, And Champions: Scenes From The Seattle Celebrations
When cities—especially certain cities—win championships, it's become a morning-after tradition to check in on the fans and see how much trouble they caused. Seattleites were pretty well-behaved, all told!
There were arrests in the University District, where burning mattresses and couches lit up Greek Row. There were reports of vandals stealing street signs. And saddest of all, fans smashed panes of glass on the 105-year-old pergola in Pioneer Square. But aside from that, it all seemed pretty peaceful.
Which isn't to say it wasn't a party. Here, via Getty Images, some more snapshots of Seattle's first major championship since 1979.
