Snoop From "The Wire" Got Arrested In Operation Usual Suspects

Federal, state and city authorities hit Baltimore yesterday, charging 63 people with drug stuff after "acting on intelligence that started flowing in about the Latrobe Homes-based organization." Those cuffed include Felicia "Snoop" Pearson, arrested on heroin-related and aiding and abetting charges.

Doing exactly what Wire-creator David Simon showed the world they were inclined to do at many turns, the police hyped Snoop's relatively minor involvement into one that will Strike A Blow To A Major Drug Operation! via charges and tough talk.

"This is truly a heavy-lifting case that goes back to 2008," said Baltimore Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III. "It should be a reminder to every bad guy in the city that we have a pretty good team coming to get you,"

Simon said, "Felicia's entitled to the presumption of innocence. And I would note that a previous, but recent drug arrest that targeted her was later found to be unwarranted and the charges were dropped."
