Something Officially Went Down At Iowa
ESPN reports that two of Iowa's running backs will not play in the Insight Bowl. The Hawkeyes suspended sophomore Adam Robinson for "failing to comply with team expectations and policies," and sophomore Jewel Hampton left the team on his own volition.
Quite the exodus for Iowa this month. With fellow sophomore back Brandon Wegher also planning a transfer next season, it is likely that true freshman Marcus Coker will get the start against Missouri in the Insight Bowl on December 28. Coker has 403 rushing yards on 81 carries and a single touchdown this season.
The Daily Iowan reports that head coach Kirk Ferentz and athletic director Gary Barta will take questions at a press conference at 11:00am ET tomorrow. In the meantime, the most recent press release on the team's official site would like to perhaps passive-aggressively remind you that "a majority of Division I programs would love to experience even a morsel of Iowa's recent postseason success."
