Spirit, Liquid open PGL Wallachia Season 6 playoffs with sweeps

Team Spirit and Team Liquid swept their upper-bracket quarterfinal matches Thursday as the playoffs got underway at PGL Wallachia Season 6 in Bucharest, Romania.

Spirit opened the double-elimination playoffs at the $1 million Dota 2 tournament by defeating HEROIC in 41 and 50 minutes, both on red. Liquid swept Tundra Esports with a 43-minute win on red and a 39-minute victory on green.

Also advancing to the upper-bracket semifinals via 2-1 wins were PARIVISION and OG.

PARIVISION defeated MOUZ by sandwiching 35- and 27-minute wins on red around a 27-minute triumph by MOUZ on green.

OG rallied to beat BetBoom Team, which opened with a 48-minute win on green before OG answered with a 33-minute win on green and a 39-minute victory on red.

All remaining matches are best-of-three until Sunday's best-of-five grand final, where the winner earns $300,000.
