Stars stay hot, roll past struggling Kings

The Stars are 4-1-0 in their last five games, outscoring opponents by a 22-10 margin.
Joe Pavelski and Sam Steel each had a goal, and Jason Robertson collected two assists. Robertson has eight points (three goals, five assists) during his six-game points streak.
Jake Oettinger stopped 31 of 32 shots for his 13th win in 24 games this season.
The Kings finished their six-game road trip with a disappointing 1-3-2 record. Los Angeles snapped an eight-game (0-4-4) winless drought Monday with its 5-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, but couldn't continue the momentum in Dallas.
Drew Doughty had the only Los Angeles goal, and Cam Talbot stopped 23 of 28 shots.
Hintz and Dadonov each scored in the first period to give Dallas a 2-0 lead at the first intermission. Dadonov's tally 15:21 into the frame involved some luck, as the puck deflected off the skate of Kings defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov.
Los Angeles had only three first-period shots, but outshot Dallas 16-8 in the second frame. The pressure started early on Doughty's goal at the 1:31 mark, as the Stars ran into penalty trouble.
Doughty capitalized on the Kings' 6-on-4 advantage, scoring past a screened Oettinger. It was Doughty's ninth goal of the season, and the 150th of his NHL career.
Dallas expanded its lead with two goals within a 57-second span in the third period. Johnston scored the first at the 5:49 mark, and Pavelski pounced on a loose puck for the quick follow-up less than a minute later.
Steel added the final touch with a short-handed goal. Radek Faksa forced a turnover and created a 2-on-1 chance with Steel 9:33 into the third period.
