Diamondbacks outfielder Steven Souza was mic’d up during yesterday’s game against the Nationals, and that was good news for anyone who likes their baseball accompanied by wry commentary.

Souza teaching Chris Owings how microphones work and razzing an umpire is fun, but the highlight of the clip is definitely Souza falling into reverent contemplation of all the mothers in his life.

“There should be a mother’s week or a month... mother’s year.”

Damn, it’s true.
