Syracuse guard J.J. Starling will miss Saturday's home game against Delaware State due to a right-leg injury, with freshman Kiyan Anthony to start in his place.

Starling, who led the Orange in scoring with 17.8 points per game last season, was hurt in Monday's season-opening 85-47 win over Binghamton. He has been considered day-to-day since.

Anthony, a four-star prospect in the 2025 class, is the son of Syracuse legend and Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame member Carmelo Anthony.

With Starling limited to just three minutes in the opener, Anthony played 28 minutes and tallied 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting. He added three rebounds and three assists.

At 6-foot-5, Anthony was ranked by 247Sports as the No. 7 shooting guard and No. 32 overall player in the class.
