Syracuse Sophomore Accused Of Stealing, Is Awfully Good At It
On Friday, The Post-Standard reported that Syracuse sophomore guard Michael Carter-Williams was accused of stealing $120 worth of merchandise from Lord & Taylor after reports emerged about an "incident" earlier in the week.
After the reports, Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim would not comment on the story. He's been fairly evasive and won't let Carter-Williams discuss the issue with the media, either. It's almost as if Boeheim has a vested interest in Carter-Williams's continued thievery.
"It's a misunderstanding," Boeheim said. "That's what I was told by Michael. Michael has told me exactly all he needs to tell me. It's his private business. He settled it. I've got to respect that.
Unfortunately for Boeheim and Carter-Williams, people are sniffing around this story and we are learning a lot. Specifically, we are learning this is not an isolated incident for Carter-Williams. In fact, it appears to be habitual. What's more, he is very good at it— not many in the country do it better.
