T.J. Houshmandzadeh Eyes Super Bowl, Proving Seahawks Wrong

Houshmandzadeh was the most recent victim of Pete Carroll's tyrannical overhaul of the Seahawks roster. Luckily for T.J., he immediately signed with a Superbowl contender in a division he should know well. Houshmandzadeh joined KJR in Seattle to talk about what he thinks happened in Seattle that made him feel as though something just wasn't right, how much looking around he and his agent did over the weekend and why he chose Baltimore, and what he thinks about playing alongside of the receivers in Baltimore.

What he thinks happened in Seattle that made him feel as though something just wasn't right: "I don't know. I don't know. It wasn't the way that I was practicing I will tell you that. You can ask people who were there or whatever but I practiced great and I don't know what it was. I just wasn't in their long-term plans I guess. They have Deon Butler, who is going to be a hell of a player if they give him an opportunity, Golden had done well, and also Obomanu, give him a chance he could get it done too. So I don't know. Maybe they just felt, let's see what these guys can do, and that is it. It wasn't, in my opinion about how I performed on the practice field because ask anybody on that team, the coaches, I did what I needed to do as far as practice."

How much looking around he and his agent did over the weekend and why he chose Baltimore: "Well we looked around trying to find the best team, the best fit, the best place to go when at times you get caught up wanting to do this and wanting to do that. I didn't know where I wanted to go and what I was going to do but at the end of the day there was 5 or 6 teams that have a legit chance to win the Super Bowl and Baltimore was one of those teams without me so I felt as if it was a good opportunity for myself."

What he thinks about playing alongside of the receivers in Baltimore: "I am excited. It is a fresh start it is going to be different. A little nervous about it just like when I came to Seattle. You are going to a different city, a different locker room, and different players so obviously the comfort level won't be there right away but I am going to do what I always do. I am going to go there and I am going to work hard and when you work hard the guys see that and everything else takes care of itself. I am going to go there and work hard, period.
