It Just Keeps Getting Worse For The Celtics [UPDATE]
Think back to two summers ago. The Boston Celtics, after enduring yet another round of criticism for failing to dig into their war chest of draft picks in order to make a trade for Paul George or Jimmy Butler, had swooped in to pluck Kyrie Irving away from the Cavs and team him up with Gordon Haywar...
Bucks, After Having Butts Kicked All The Way Off In Game 1: Why Would We Change Anything?
The major question coming out of Game 1 of the ballyhooed Celtics-Bucks series is how the Bucks plan to recover after having home-court advantage yanked away in a discouraging loss. The long and short of it is, the Bucks, from head coach Mike Budenholzer on down, do not feel that strategic adjustmen...
It's Time To Remember Al Horford Again
Al Horford is good. This is a sentence that’s never punctuated with an exclamation point between the months of October and March. Then, once again, you see him stopping the least stoppable players in the Eastern Conference, and making all the right decisions on the other side of the floor, and it’s ...
The Celtics Stole Giannis Antetokounmpo's Lunch Money And Stuffed Him In A Locker
Game 1 of the Bucks-Celtics series seemed to prove that there were little to no overarching takeaways from the first round of the playoffs that could have been used to predict how this game would go. The Bucks were not the world-beaters they looked to be in their four-game sweep of the Pistons; the ...
Big Boban Flicked One Over Small Al
It’s always a treat to see the hands of Boban Marjanovic manipulate a tiny basketball. During the Sixers’ loss to the Celtics Tuesday night, the Philly center was regularly corralling rebounds without leaving the floor. He snagged this one like an apple off a high branch:...
Joel Embiid Ends Press Conference By Declaring That The Referees "Fucking Suck"
The freshly beefed-up Philadelphia 76ers faced a reeling and miserable Boston Celtics team in Philly last night, and thus had the opportunity to put a signature win on their increasingly hated rivals. Instead, they got beat 112-109 (despite the Celtics not having Kyrie Irving on the floor), and Joel...
Celtics Take 3-0 Series Lead After Sixers Choke Repeatedly
It’s not that the Sixers are dumb. They’re not. They are, in fact, quite tough and disciplined. But it is also true that their best players are children, and they are playing a series against one of the very sharpest, most wisely and meticulously coached NBA teams you will ever see. And the conseque...
Meet Al Horford, Playoff Monster
Coming into this postseason, Al Horford’s playoff reputation never really stood out. He spent most of his career on a series of Hawks teams that were doomed to be steamrolled by LeBron James every spring. In the 17 times he met James in the playoffs, he only won one game, and that was on his 15th tr...
Giannis Antetokounmpo Baptized Al Horford And The Photos Were Beautiful
Giannis Antetokounmpo laid waste to Al Horford with four minutes to go in Game 4 of Celtics-Bucks Sunday. It was devastating in real time, satisfying in slow-mo, and maybe at its most dramatic when slowed to a halt, thanks to Getty Images photographer Jonathan Daniel....
The End Of Bucks-Celtics Featured A Ridiculous Sequence Of Clutch Buckets
Game 1 of Bucks-Celtics was choppy and hectic and low-scoring, but man was it tense, and the last 10 minutes or so were breathless, hilarious fun. Let’s just sit here and enjoy some highlights for a few minutes, yeah?...
Ha Ha, Look At These Two Chumps Who Got Picked Last For The NBA All Star Teams
Part of the discussion around the NBA’s new All Star format, where the teams are selected via a draft by the top two players in fan voting, is whether the draft should be televised, or otherwise broadcast, or in any way made public. You see, that was not done this time around, and so fans (and playe...
Dwight Howard Going At Al Horford Three Times In A Row Last Night Was Fun As Hell
One of the fun little subplots of the season of the season has been animosity between the Celtics and Hawks. The Celtics have taken the Hawks’ spot of two years ago as prime challenger in the East to the Cavaliers, and feisty point guards Isaiah Thomas and Dennis Schröder have gotten into it about w...
Al Horford's Sister Tells Radio Doofus To Fuck Off Over His Bad Paternity Leave Take
Al Horford missed the Celtics’ win last night over the Heat to be in Atlanta for the birth of his daughter. This did not sit well with Mike Felger, a Boston-based radio and TV doofus, who said on CSN New England last night that Horford should have chartered a private jet and made the game because th...
Bah Gawd! It's An Al Horford-The Rock People's Elbow Mashup!
After Al Horford’s ejection for dropping The People’s Elbow on Matthew Dellavedova last night, it was only a matter of time before we compiled every angle of Horford’s move and mixed it in with some vintage footage of The Rock. And, yes, there’s the usual presence of “J.R.” Jim Ross in there too....
Al Horford Ejected For Dropping The People's Elbow
Hawks star Al Horford earned a Flagrant 2 and ejection from the game for dropping an elbow on the Cavs’ Matthew Dellavedova late in the first half of tonight’s Eastern Conference Finals Game 3....
