Not-LeBron, Six-Putts, and the Padres - Everything you Missed While Watching the NFL on Sunday
It’s likely that before you enter a playoff series against LeBron James, you understand there might be a game or two that’s going to be taken from you (unless you’re the Warriors, in which case it’ll be three games in a row you’ll never live down no matter what you do). He’ll go supernova, shoot som...
Patrick Beverley Has Somehow Reached A Higher Plane Of Intensity On The New-Look Clippers
Becoming a title favorite over the summer and opening the season against the hometown rival would all be hugely motivational for the Clippers. But Patrick Beverley has never required that extra fuel. By tipoff of any given game he has already showered in kerosene and used a lit match as a Q-tip. ...
Anthony Davis Let Me Measure You, Coward
So there’s this thing:...
The Lakers Already Have A Center
Hey, remember back in mid-July, when the Lakers traded the moon and stars for one of the most talented young players in the NBA? Remember that? Remember when the team and the player did their big introductory press conference? Remember during that press conference, when that player—who is listed by ...

Anthony Davis Settles For Half Of What LeBron Wanted

The Lakers Are Really Going For it
The Lakers have cleared the decks. They’ve stripped away every player from the roster who they do not view as central to their next championship push. It turns out the list of remaining players is hilariously small and remarkably expensive, and before filling out the margins the Lakers very much ho...
All Your Assets Are Belong To The Pelicans
The trade that sent Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans to the Los Angeles Lakers was a good one. The NBA Would've Been Better Off Rigging The Draft Lottery
The NBA’s new odds format did the job of scrambling the draft order. The Cavaliers, represented by Nick Gilbert, dropped to fifth,...

All Anthony Davis Did Was Request A Trade
On Oct. 3, 1974, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, then the 27-year-old reigning MVP of the NBA and the biggest star the sport of basketball had ever seen, told the brass of the Milwaukee Bucks that he didn’t want to play for them anymore, and requested a trade. He had one year left on his contract and, as he re...
