We we tried to tell you about Power Slap
I’m truly shocked to hear that the mega-smash hit Power Slap: Road to the Title on TBS got canceled after just eight episodes, according to MMA Fighting. About as shocked as one can be when I 100 percent predicted this over a month ago. It’s a show where someone gets slapped, and then someone else g...
Is Shaq gonna get served on TV?
It’s not too shocking that athletes or celebrities in general don’t know much about whatever they’re getting paid to promote. If the check clears is about as much thought as they have to put into it. No one thinks Steve Martin drinks Pepsi in his free time. Or that Brie Larson is tooling around in a...
In a post-Donald Sterling, Robert Sarver world Jimmy Haslam is the last thing the NBA needed
The expression “two steps forward, one step back,” isn’t just the realization that progress is being hindered — it also describes a situation the NBA could potentially be in. After ridding itself of degenerate former governors (owners) who did heinous acts during their tenures in Los Angeles (Donald...
Commanders minority owners are alleging that Dan Snyder used the franchise as a personal 'piggy bank'
The Dan Snyder era has had a dumpster-grade stench from the beginning. But just when it seemed like he’d leave peacefully, his destructive personality kicked back in. Snyder is finally leaning towards selling the team on his own, but not without kicking and screaming. ...
The Jeff Bezos-Dan Snyder pissing contest, explained
It appears that Daniel Snyder’s disdain for Jeff Bezos will prevent the billionaire Amazon founder from buying the Washington Commanders. Bezos was allegedly prevented from joining a private auction for the NFL franchise by Snyder due to a long-standing grudge. (Bezos and Snyder did not return calls...
Adam Silver unveils the future of NBA streaming — and it's absolutely stupid
NBA All-Star Weekend kicked off yesterday with commissioner Adam Silver unveiling several features soon to become part of the future live game streaming experience. The annual Tech Summit always offers a solid glimpse into the future, and fans were abuzz wondering what technical marvels would be com...
LeBron’s rise from poverty to NBA all-time leading scorer is the real story
A lot of children were born in 1984. I know almost none of them, and the same goes for anyone reading this story. Personally, I know cousins, and a handful of people from church, high school, and college. You reading this most likely don’t know them and I don’t know your parents, kids, friends, etc....
In the case of James Dolan v. lawyers, New York fans are the losers
During a year in which both the New York Knicks and Rangers are competitive and probably playoff-bound, James Dolan can’t keep from sticking his fat face in the news. If you missed it, the embattled owner is determined to continue using facial recognition software in his never-ending fight against a...
NCAA to Congress: Stop us before we NIL again
The NCAA needs a reality check. This week the vanishingly relevant college athletics institution has once again asked Congress to help it stabilize the college sports system, but unless Hunter Biden is suiting up at linebacker for LSU next season, it’ll be hard to motivate the people in charge to fa...
Luka Dončić got Banksy’d — and Mark Cuban got pissed
Artists are often great at capitalizing on a moment and saying what everyone is thinking in a creative and eye-capturing fashion. Enter Preston Pannek, whose mural of Luka Dončić holding a “Please send help” sign perfectly encapsulates the season the Dallas Mavericks are having. And like any fascist...
IDIOT OF THE YEAR No. 1: Herschel Walker
2022 is the year Herschel Walker rebranded himself as a generational IDIOT OF THE YEAR talent. There had been glimpses before, but he showcased his full-range of idiocy in 2022. Each week, the former UGA and NFL running back humiliated himself in pursuit of power and influence he seemed to have no p...
Herschel Walker’s harebrained campaign got chewed up and spit out by Georgia voters
Herschel Walker couldn’t bust through Senator Warlock’s blue wall on Tuesday Night, or leap over it. As the final surviving Trump-backed candidate running for statewide office, Walker’s resounding loss capped off a disastrous election cycle for Trump’s celebrity-political spawn. And just like the US...
Deion Sanders is borrowing too much of his Colorado strategy from Elon Musk
Fear not Boulder, Colorado, Deion Sanders is here to save Colorado football. All he needed when he stepped off a private jet was his own silk cape to accompany his messiah complex. If the extremes and excesses of the NIL era were molded into human form, it would be the man known as Coach Prime....
Steve Ballmer has got to be sick thinking about how good his Clippers could be
Coming into the season, the Los Angeles Clippers were viewed as one of the favorites to represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals. That pick was contingent on a healthy Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. The supporting cast that owner Steve Ballmer has assembled around his dynamic star duo is g...

Are Twitter and sports headed for a crash?
In 2008 when I started covering the New York Jets, I also joined Twitter. It was a great way to break news, see what your competition knew, and hear from regular fans....

Delusional Donald: Trump thinks miraculous Jets win makes Robert Saleh 'greater than Vince Lombardi'
For most of his life, former President Donald Trump has been obsessed with football. There are failed bids to become the owner of an NFL team, taking control of the New Jersey Generals in a past version of the USFL, and calling players like Colin Kaepernick who knelt during the national anthem to pr...
