You done messed up, Urban
The Jaguars are not going to compete for a Super Bowl this year. They are not going to compete for a division title. They are not going to compete for a playoff spot. With that in mind, all that should matter in Urban Meyer’s first season as head coach, is developing his rookie quarterback, Trevor L...
So what’s to be done with Alexander Zverev?
The U.S. Open has a problem. The ATP has a problem. And neither is likely to do much about it. And no, it’s not the ranks of players pulling out of the tournament. ...
Don’t overdo it, MLB
Quick, where was the last NHL Winter Classic?...
Mitch Trubisky is trippin’
Former Chicago first-round pick Mitchell (Don’t call me Mitch) Trubisky has finally moved on from da Bears to a team where he claims people want him and care about his progression — leading to the obvious inference that his previous team, in fact, did not. ...
The Deshaun Watson saga just keeps getting murkier
The future of Deshaun Watson continues to be a major question mark. ...
The only thing certain about this upcoming NFL season is that Falcons and Cowboys fans will cry
Well, well, well… we are actually going to see an NFL football game tonight....
Why is this trade allowed to happen?
It’s not official, and the NFL still has time to act before it becomes so. Not that it will, and Roger Goodell will get that blank look with the pursed lips that he always gets when he’s asked anything resembling a tough question and all the wires in his brain fizzle and short. If you look into his ...
Green Bay continues trying to please Aaron Rodgers by targeting favorite Randall Cobb
Good news Texans fans! You may not have a strong defense, good head coach, tons of early draft capital, or a quarterback devoid of controversy, but what you do have is one of Aaron Rodgers’ favorite targets from his past and a team willing to do anything to keep Rodgers happy. ...
Why isn't Deshaun Watson on NFL Commissioner's Exempt List?
The fact that Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is allowed anywhere near a football field is despicable, yet here we are. Watson reported to the Texans facility yesterday for COVID testing in advance of training camp, while also reiterating his stance that he will not play for the team this ...
A look at the very young AFC East quarterback picture
At some point this coming football season (oh and side note, training camps start next week so football season is basically here), the oldest starting quarterback in the AFC East will be Josh Allen, the No. 7 overall pick only three years ago. This division is far and away the youngest division of s...
Lamar Jackson is negotiating a deal on his own and nobody knows what to make of it
Money management is a thing that we all deal with. But when it comes to athletes, the stakes are even higher as their salaries are just as accessible as their stats. And with Lamar Jackson closing in on a contract extension that will pay him hundreds of millions of dollars, many are curious how this...
Even with a promising QB, Matt Nagy could still screw this up for the Bears
When the Chicago Bears traded up in the first round of the NFL Draft and selected quarterback Justin Fields out of The Ohio State University, Chicagoland felt cautiously optimistic that maybe they finally found the franchise quarterback that has long eluded them....
Why is 6-foot-3 Mac Jones suddenly being criticized for his lack of size?
We judge a lot of things based on size: Texas BBQ, television monitors, people’s homes, yadda yadda yadda. NFL quarterbacks are no exception. Everything about them gets judged based on their size. Not even Joe Burrow’s hands were exempt from the harsh eye of NFL media. As OTA’s have kicked off acros...
Here’s why Deshaun Watson shouldn’t play next year, but the NFL won’t care
To be fair, there are legit reasons that Deshaun Watson can’t play football in 2021. The fact that he’s being accused of being an absolute bridge ghoul, first and foremost. What has been alleged in court documents paints him a predator. That should be enough. But of course it isn’t....
DeShaun Watson skipping OTAs is good news for Houston
For the first time this offseason, Deshaun Watson is doing the Houston Texans a favor, even if he doesn’t mean to. His motives on this, I’m sure, have nothing to do with what’s in the best interest of the team and are purely selfish, but still — in demanding a trade, Watson reportedly won’t show up ...
Davis Mills has tools to carry Texans in a post-Deshaun Watson world
It happens all the time that highly touted recruits don’t pan out. Sometimes it’s a talent issue, sometimes work ethic, sometimes injuries. Who knows. When Stanford signed five-star recruit Davis Mills in 2017, the top quarterback in his class, they thought they were bringing in a talent that would ...
Odds are, the Lions and Texans have no hope
We’re months away from NFL kickoff but some fanbases should just start preparing for 2022, it seems....
When these 9 rookie quarterbacks will make their first starts
In total, nine quarterbacks were taken in the NFL Draft. No quarterback is ever a sure thing, but in this talented group, the odds are very high that there will be a handful of difference makers that alter the league’s landscape. Out of these nine quarterbacks taken, all of whom went in the fourth r...
Houston, we have a... new quarterback prospect?
There are few axioms this time of year that ring more true than “actions speak louder than words.” The Houston Texans, with their first opportunity to make a pick in the draft, demonstrated that statement perfectly in selecting a quarterback in the third round despite essentially being silent about ...
Mac Jones is the ultimate ‘Patriots QB’
If you’re a Patriots fan like me, you know that the NFL Draft is about two words when it comes to this team: trade back. It’s how Bill Belichick has built the league’s greatest contemporary franchise. Giving up fewer picks in earlier rounds for more picks later....
