GSTF Book Tour Stop: Oak Brook, Illinois
We had about 30 people at our Oak Brook Borders reading last night, and that's about 28 more than we were expecting. It was freezing, snowing like crazy and, of course, way out in the freaking suburbs. But somehow, people dragged themselves through the cold to watch us wear the same thing we've bee...
Sweet Home Oak Brook
After a weekend of dead cold out sleeping, we are back on the ole book tour business and ready to rock tonight. We are back in the Midwest, where we are most comfortable. And by "comfortable," we mean "freaking freezing."...
GSTF Book Tour Stop: Seattle, Washington
This God Save The Fan tour business has been so lengthy, and involved so much travel, that something that happened three days ago seems like months ago. Still: Even though we're in Chicago now, Friday's event in Seattle is still fresh in our minds. It was at a loud bar, and involved people receivi...
Tonight's The Last West Coast Stop: Howdy, Seattle
The God Save The Fan tour hits Seattle tonight, and it's our type of event, because it's at a bar. Both the reading, and the "afterparty." Both involving booze. Sounds good....
GSTF Book Tour Stop: Alameda, California
The God Save The Fan tour hit Alameda, California, last night, a city we'd never visited before. It's really quite nice; we counted more coffee shops than bail bondsmen, and that's usually a good sign. It was really a most enjoyable evening, including cameo appearances by official Deadspin sister ...
We Left Our Heart In Alameda
By the time you actually read this — this is one of those "future" "posted" items — we will be on the road, screaming up the Golden State Freeway (we can't take the scenic route: No time!) to Alameda, for the next stop of the book tour business....
GSTF Book Tour Stop: Los Angeles, California
We had a grand time at the Book Soup reading last night, once we finally found freaking parking. It has been more than a decade since we lived in Los Angeles. We had kind of forgotten. But the real highlight was the reading going on next door to ours: It included appearances by Eric Roberts, Danny ...
Time For Us And Pau To Make Our LA Debuts
All right, time for stop two of this whole book tour business: Los Angelenos, get thee to Book Soup. And the night is not over then: After that is when the real fun starts....
GSTF Book Tour Stop: Tempe, Arizona
The first step of the book tour kicked off last night at the Changing Hands Bookstore in Phoenix, and we had a grand time with Roger Director, who has considerably more energy than we do....
The First Of Many Book Tour Stops
With all the rigmarole about the Super Bowl and what-not, we almost forgot that we were supposed to be on a book tour. The whole big shebang kicks off tonight at the Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe. We will not be wearing our Jenna Bush mask. (By the way, the book she's reading there is not "My Pe...
Gilbert Arenas Wants You To Buy Our Book
Yes, yes, we know: We've hawked the book a bit around here, but we took a day off from it yesterday. (If just because we were in a plane for seven hours.) But don't worry, folks: Gilbert Arenas has our back....
Inside The "God Save The Fan" Book Release Party
Last night, we held our book release party for God Save The Fan. (That's us and Deadspin soccer columnist and GSTF editor David Hirshey.) If the site was terrible, that's why. We're not gonna do a full field trip post on this, mainly because we're still too tired, but you can see a full set of pho...
We Proudly Present "A Clockwork Leather"
You may remember back in June, when we underwent our watch-ESPN-for-24-hours experiment for the book. Well, now that the book is out, the mad geniuses at Zubaz Pants have put together a visual interpretation of that chapter of the book....
God Save The Fan FAQ
As you might have remembered, our book, God Save The Fan, is being released today. You can find it at bookstores everywhere. We've been asked a lot of questions about the book, so we thought that today, on its release date, we would do our best to answer them the best we know how. Hence, Frequently ...
The Decidedly Less Than Amazing Race
Just four days away from the book release, folks, and we got a considerable kick out of a post from the Ladies ... this morning: Which blog will be the first to review the book? It's a strong list of candidates....
Be A Part Of That Book Tour Business
Hey, it's everybody's favorite time of the day: Sifting out more info about the release of the book!. Don't worry; we're not going too far over the top. We're actually looking for help from you this time. We're gonna organize the book tour....
At Last, Proof The Book Will Actually Exist
We're going to do our absolute best to not overdo the whole book promotion thing — it's out January 22 and is available for pre-order on Amazon.com — but we haven't shown you the cover yet (that's it, by Jim Cooke, of course), and we're doing our first public reading tomorrow night. So we thought yo...
