Comedy of Bear-rors: Justin Fields’ fourth-quarter routine has Chicago closer to the No. 1 pick
Courtesy of ill-time mistakes, Chicago remains the biggest joke in the NFL. Before kickoff, Chase Claypool was ruled inactive after complaining about his usage to the media, the last straw in an assembly line of Claypool’s missteps. Fortunately, Fields had a Cole Kmet and DJ Moore at his disposal....
The Chicago Bears haven’t won a playoff game since Lovie Smith. Their next head coach should be Black
If you pass on an established Black head coach and don’t bring in the best offensive coordinator in the NFL — who also happens to be Black — it means the white guy you hired better be good. Well, Matt Eberflus sucks, Eric Bieniemy is still one of the best play-callers in the game, and Jim Caldwell i...
If only the Bears could ‘healthy scratch’ the entire organization
There was a moment, back in 2021, that should have given the Bears a long pause before trading for Chase Claypool, if not put them off him entirely. But then, as we’ve established, the Bears are incapable of making good decisions....
The Bears and White Sox are studies in how NOT to handle a PR crisis
It’s a rough time to be a fan of Chicago sports. ...

Week 3 NFL Takeaways: Ugh. Did somebody die in here?
A lot of poor professional football was played during Week 3 of the NFL season. Going into the first window of games, most of the schedule appeared uninspiring — especially after 4:00 p.m. EST. However, mismatches were not the sole reason for poor play throughout the day....

After starting the season 0-2, things got a whole lot worse for the Chicago Bears on Wednesday....
The Chicago Bears will never NOT make the wrong decision (Updated)
The Chicago Bears are 0-4 to start the season. It’s certainly not the first time the “Monsters of the Midway” have started the season with multiple losses. After all, we lived through the John Fox era, but somehow, after several seasons of big expectations, and devastating results, this season’s sta...

Nathan Peterman makes Bears roster after all as white mediocrity remains undefeated [Updated]
Update Aug. 31: After cutting Nathan Peterman in favor of undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent out of DII Shepherd University, the Chicago Bears have added the former to the 53-man roster. Both will serve as backups to Justin Fields....
So you traded the No. 1 pick — now what, Chicago?
The Chicago Bears failed in the most ideal way possible last season. They finished with the worst record in the NFL, and still found a way to unleash breathtaking athleticism from Justin Fields. ...
NFL QB candidates for the Daniel Jones ‘Don’t give up on me just yet’ award
One of the biggest stories to come out of a very eventful New York Giants season was the emergence of Daniel Jones. Jones went from not having his option picked up to being nicknamed “Vanilla Vick” and the team most likely franchise tagging him. There are two narratives to come of this development. ...
Yes, the Chicago Bears should upgrade… the coaching staff
The Chicago Bears have an opportunity to make the king of all shrewd football decisions this offseason, and I’m not talking about replacing Justin Fields. No, no, no. What I’m offering is much more… drastic. Chicago is as well positioned as any rebuilding team, and there’s one coach who’s basically ...

If Matt Eberflus helped turn Darius Leonard into a star by helping him with more than just Xs and Os, maybe he can do the same for Justin Fields
The Chicago Bears are in a familiar position, starting all over again. Since they fired Lovie Smith following their 10-6 2013 season in which they missed the playoffs for the third consecutive season, they have relieved three coaches of their duties. They followed a predictable pattern with each hir...
Being a Black head coach in the NFL is a Catch-22
Brian Flores’ racial discrimination lawsuit against the NFL has multiple elements to it. On different levels, Flores is alleging, and claiming to have receipts for, behavior in the league that’s long been suspected, but would be damning to have shown as true — especially to the extent that Flores is...
The lower 28
There are 28 NFL teams not playing this weekend, which means there are 28 teams trying to figure out how to get to where they want to go: the Super Bowl. Some, naturally, have better ideas about it than others....
