A reporter who trades in scoops should have only one responsibility: to get it right. Regardless of the size of the scoop, it can’t be bogus. Yes, sometimes sources mislead reporters to serve their own purposes. But there’s only a limited pool of sources for this kind of transactional stuff, anyway:...

Steve Smith And Michael Irvin Are Still Not The Best Of Friends
Since retiring from the NFL in 2017, Steve Smith has made the seamless switch from a brash, loud-mouth receiver to a brash, loud-mouth analyst on the NFL Network. You Survived At NFL Network By Staying Silent
On my first day at NFL Media I signed paperwork promising that I wouldn’t harass players for autographs. That struck me as odd, given that I was a professional reporter being hired to work in a newsroom; this was a newsroom that answered to 32 NFL owners, yes, but the strangeness of that fact didn’t...

Steve Smith Might Really Whoop Michael Irvin's Ass
During Thursday’s NFL Network pregame show, Michael Irvin couldn’t resist taking a shot at Steve Smith’s pants. It seems like a bad idea to joke with the guy who once broke his own teammate’s nose, but it was heartening to see Irvin put his own neck on the line for once....
