TBS Knows Baseball, But About That Frank Fellow
All told, we've been pretty impressed with TBS's playoffs coverage so far. Cal Ripken is shockingly candid, that lead-from-first graphic is kind of neat and they're generally restrained about matters. ( Other than Dick Stockton's hair, that is.)
But boy, oh boy, what are we going to do about this Frank Caliendo character? We find it telling that this is the type of show people think sports fans will find funny. Is he really just going to do impersonations the whole time? Is that the whole show? We find impersonations amusing for about five seconds; then we're like, "OK, good, that's accurate ... now do something funny." But Frank's gonna be there all weekend, constantly. So strap in, because he's just getting warmed up. Oh, oh, do Bill Clinton!
