TBS's Slogan Is "Very Funny," Which Is Fitting Because Its Baseball Analysis Is A Joke
The MLB playoff coverage on TBS has suffered the arrows of critics for years, and it hasn't really shown any signs of improvement. How the same company that can produce the brilliant Inside the NBA drops the ball so terribly with MLB coverage is a mystery, but there's no questioning the wide range of issues with TBS's coverage. From uninformed broadcasters (Cal Ripken, Jr. is especially bad) to lousy/lazy graphics, MLB playoff television on TBS is a chore to sit through.
Yesterday it seemed TBS couldn't be bothered to prepare adequate game previews, as here's their pre-game breakdown of Baltimore pitcher Miguel Gonzalez. Oh, sure, he's a nobody—just a nobody who held the Yankees to one run in seven innings, racking up eight strikeouts along the way.
