Texans to induct co-founder Janice McNair into Ring of Honor

The Houston Texans will induct Janice McNair, who co-founded the team with her late husband, into their Ring of Honor.
The ceremony will take place Nov. 2 at halftime of the Texans' game against the Denver Broncos.
She will become the fourth person honored, following her husband, Robert McNair, and franchise icons Andre Johnson and J.J. Watt.
Janice McNair retains the title of senior chair with the team. The expansion Texans joined the NFL in 2002.
"My parents brought football back to Houston more than 20 years ago and ever since, my mom has given so much to our city and our organization," said Cal McNair, the team's chair and CEO. "There is no one more deserving of being the next member of this illustrious group than mom. She continues to be our team's biggest fan, and I know how proud dad would be to see her name join his in the rafters of NRG Stadium. I can't wait to celebrate her induction into the Ring of Honor this season."
Johnson became the first member of the Ring of Honor in 2017. McNair, who died at age 81 in 2018, was inducted the following year, with Watt added in 2023.
"I'm thrilled to join Bob, Andre and J.J. in the Ring of Honor," Janice McNair said. "It means so much to me to be inducted alongside three of my favorite Texans. I have cherished every game day since 2002 and I'm so proud of our team. It will be such a blessing to celebrate this special occasion with our amazing fans in November."
The McNairs settled in Houston in 1960 and have been known for their philanthropy, contributing more than $500 million to charitable causes, according to the Texans.
