Texas H.S. Football Team Loses 12-OT Game
With a playoff berth on the line, the Nacogdoches Dragons and Jacksonville Indians were tied at 28 at the end of regulation Friday night. Final score: 84-81.
The Dragons had scored 53 points in overtime, but in the 12th overtime, they fumbled - their fifth lost fumble and 11th turnover of the game. The Indians capitalized with the field goal to end a game that lasted more than five hours. The Dragons had several opportunities to win the game in the overtimes, but intentionally extended the game due to playoff scenarios. If everything played out, it was possible for a three-way tie after next week's game that need Nacogdoches to win by at least 7 points to reach the playoffs over Jacksonville, due to tiebreaker.
