That's Not A Goal, You Blind Motherfucker
This is so dumb.
Yesterday in Belgium's top flight, KRC Genk took on Lierse SK, and Lierse got punished, 3-0. The story here, though, is of the second goal, which got called a goal even though it was clearly not a goal.
Genk midfielder Herve Kage made a dashing run through Lierse's midfield before combining with a teammate at the top of the box and unleashing a nasty strike on goal. The ball clashed against the crossbar, bounced, and was collected by the keeper. Kage peeled off, disappointed, before looking back at the assistant referee. The linesman ruled it a goal.
This is incredible, and this is why things like goal line technology and eyeballs and even assistant referees exist. The ball bounced a yard out from the goal line, and yet we were left with Kage dancing his little heart out to a goal exactly one person thought should count.
