The Brooklyn Dodgers Did Not Mind If You Photographed Their Pubes And Asses
At least for the A's and Mariners in Tokyo, Opening Day is early Wednesday morning. With the return of baseball comes the return of casual nudity, an inescapable fact of locker rooms since the days before the West Coast had teams.
All we know about this photo is that it was taken at Ebbets Field, but by identifying the players we can date it to between 1950 and 1957. From left to right, Clem Labine, with a crew cut that does not match the carpet, Carl Furillo, dripping with olive oil voice and guinea charm, and the modest-by-comparison Pee Wee Reese.
Long Lens is an occasional look into the photo archives of Life For more from life in the locker room, click here.
