The Cardinals Lost Their 19th Game
Photo: [object Object] Cardinals lefty Jaime Garcia had an unspectacular five-inning performance as the Colorado Rockies beat St. Louis Tuesday night, 3-1.
Garcia allowed five hits—all singles—and four walks that resulted in three earned runs. He credited the Rockies’ hitting and admitted it wasn’t an ideal outing. From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch
“Not the best,” said Garcia. “I’ve just got to do a better job next time.
“They’ve got a really good lineup over there and they weren’t swinging at pitches close to the plate. But, again, no excuses.”
Rockies starter Chad Bettis allowed one earned run, five hits, and two walks in 6 2/3 innings, while striking out four. Closer Jake McGee notched his 13th save of the season.
There’s always the next game!
