The Cardinals Lost Their 42nd Game

The Milwaukee Brewers beat the St. Louis Cardinals in walkoff fashion Friday after shortstop Jonathan Villar’s single drove in Kirk Nieuwenhuis with two outs in the ninth.
The Brewers had a 3-2 lead until Yadier Molina tied the game with a home run in the eighth inning. Reliever Trevor Rosenthal started the bottom of the ninth for the Cardinals and immediately walked Nieuwenhuis; the Brewers outfielder reached second base on Hernan Pérez’s sacrifice. Seung-hwan Oh replaced Rosenthal, hit Ramon Flores, and gave up the game-winning hit.
