The Cardinals Lost Their 49th Game
Photo: [object Object] Derek Dietrich’s triple drove in Adeiny Hechavarria and gave the Miami Marlins a walk-off win Sunday as they topped the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-4.
Marlins reliever Fernando Rodney let a two-run lead slip away in the eighth inning, but Dietrich saved the team as he faced Matt Bowman with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. The pinch-hitter slapped the ball into center field past Cardinals outfielder Tommy Pham, and Hechavarria scored easily.
The Cardinals are 56-49, and 13-17 in one-run games. There’s always the next game!
