The Cardinals Lost Their 51st Game
Photo: [object Object] Mike Leake endured a rough start Thursday as the Cincinnati Reds blanked the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-0.
Leake allowed seven earned runs over five innings with eight hits and one walk. The right-hander gave up two runs with no outs in the sixth before he was relieved by Seth Maness. Leake was responsible for two more runs scored after he left the game. It was Leake’s third straight outing in which he allowed six or more earned runs.
Cincinnati’s starter had a much better day. Brandon Finnegan allowed two hits and no walks over six innings with four strikeouts.
The Cardinals are 57-51. There’s always the next game!
