The Cardinals Lost Their Fifth Game
Adam Wainwright allowed ten hits and seven earned runs as the St. Louis Cardinals fell today at home to the Reds, 9-8.
Cincinnati hit nine doubles on the day as Wainwright squandered an early four-run lead. Jay Bruce added his third home run of the season to the offensive attack, while St. Louis managed a ninth-inning comeback attempt only to find the game end on a batter’s interference play.
The Cardinals are 6-5, and sit in second place in the N.L. Central. There’s always the next game!
