The Dolphins Just Fired Tony Sparano
It's been a rough day for the coaches of underachieving NFL teams: The Chiefs fired Todd Haley this morning, and Adam Schefter reports that the Dolphins fired Tony Sparano this afternoon.
Miami recovered from an 0-7 start to the season and climbed back to a respectable 4-9, but they're going to miss the postseason for the third year in a row. Unlike Haley, Sparano's tenure was rather unmemorable, save for his oddly-timed real estate dealings and his penchant for wearing your dad's sunglasses on the sidelines. Secondary coach Todd Bowles will reportedly take over as interim coach.
We'd predict that Indy's Jim Caldwell is up next, but he and the Colts are doing a very fine job of Sucking For Luck this season.
