The Josh McCown Era Is Over In Tampa
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released quarterback Josh McCown after one season.
McCown shined as Jay Cutler's replacement on the Bears in 2013, throwing 13 touchdowns to one interception. He parlayed his performance into a multi-year contract with the Bucs.
McCown began the season as Tampa Bay's starter but exited Week 3's game against the Falcons with a thumb injury. The ailment sidelined him for several weeks; Mike Glennon took his place.
McCown won the starting job back in Week 10 against the Falcons and played out the rest of the season. He finished with a 56.3 completion percentage, 2,206 yards, 11 passing touchdowns and 14 picks.
The Buccaneers still have Glennon, but will probably take a quarterback in the draft.
