The Only Way To Get Americans To Care About Soccer
This image was lost some time after publication. They've tried starting a professional league. They've tried forcing mothers into drive vans back and forth between games. They've even tried having women take off their shirts when they score. And nothing has worked: Americans have better things to do that get into soccer. But Premier League team Chelsea has a new tactic: Reality television! The club is hosting a reality series on Sky TV following 16-and-17-year-olds and their dreams of playing a sport so perverse that it doesn't actually let you use your hands. The first season, it won't be on American television, but if it's a hit, producers say it could move Stateside. Twenty bucks says the host ends up being Stuart Scott.
