The Philadelphia Eagles-Branded Version Of Angry Birds Looks Terrible
A few months ago we noted this weird video featuring a cartoon Andy Reid introducing Angry Birds characters as new members of the Philadelphia Eagles. Yesterday, we learned what product that video was promoting, and unsurprisingly it's this Eagles-themed version of the popular casual game.
It'll be released September 4th on the Eagles' official Facebook page, with new levels available after every Eagles game. But the tie-in doesn't stop there:
In conjunction with the launch of the Facebook game, the Eagles will be hosting a Back to Football event at Love Park in Philadelphia on September 4 that will include players, cheerleaders, SWOOP and a real life version of the Angry Birds game, inspired by K'NEX. The event is free and open to the public. More details to come at a later date.
Additionally, a giant, life-sized version of the Mighty Philadelphia Eagle will be making a two-week tour around the Greater Philadelphia area. Fans can take pictures of themselves with the Mighty Philadelphia Eagle and upload them to the Eagles' Facebook page for a chance to win season tickets.
What is a "life-sized version of the Mighty Philadelphia Eagle"? The Mighty Philadelphia Eagle does not exist in real life, thus there cannot be a "life-sized version." If the press release is trying to warn Philadelphians that they will be terrorized by a gigantic bird head, perhaps that part should have been in the lede.
