There's Something Truly Special About One Of These Shoplifters's Mugshots
Korin Vanhouten and Eldon Alexander — you decide which is which — totally got charged with stealing makeup, energy bars and batteries from a Utah supermarket the other day. What, no lotion basket?
Anyway, when Johnny Law was finished with his question asking and awesome-mugshot taking, things took another turn.
[A]s the officer started to leave, "He sees the two suspects trying to flag him down in the parking lot and he goes over to their location and realizes that their vehicle has actually been burglarized."
From a distance, surveillance video caught what appears to be a man in a red sweater scoping out Alexander's truck and he eventually gets inside.
"They ended up having their stereo and amplifier, a drum machine and some cigarettes stolen from their vehicle," Young said. ...
Police say the couple tried to shoplift about $25 worth of merchandise. The items taken from their truck were worth about $60.
Math says that's about a $35 loss. News judgment says that without that $35 loss, Korin and/or Eldon's mugshot would never have seen the light of day. So, thanks for that, red-sweatered thief.
