These Filipino Divers Gave It Their Best Shots, And Failed Spectacularly
Salute Filipino divers John David Pahoyo and John Elmerson Fabriga, because even with no experience and little support, the two athletes still competed in this year’s Southeast Asian Games. Sure, they were awful, but... well, I don’t know where I’m going with this. It’s not their faults, though.
Pahoyo and Fabriga received scores of zeroes on their individual attempts. Fabriga made the more satisfying sound when he flopped:
Though Pahoyo and Fabriga finished seventh and eighth out of eight divers in the 3-meter springboard dive, they did a little better in the 3-meter synchronized springboard event, despite tying for last. At least they got a trip to Singapore.
