Things Are Not Going So Hot For Aqib Talib And Family
Police in Garland, Texas have issued arrest warrants for Bucs corner Aqib Talib (left) and his mother (right) after the pair allegedly shot at Talib's sister's boyfriend, Shannon Billings, on March 21. (Also pictured: Sad Jayhawk, who must be sad about this.)
A middling corner and his mother possibly shooting at—and definitely missing—a 40-year-old man named Shannon, on some quiet night in March? This is why you can't have nice things, Roger Goodell says.
Mama Talib has already turned herself in, but, uh, the Garland police are evidently at Aqib's mercy: "Aqib Talib is scheduled to turn himself in sometime later this week on his warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Bond for that warrant is set at $25,000." Yeah, he'll be in sometime later this week, like your cable guy. And he'll have like six grand or so. That cool?
This is the entirety of the Bucs' statement:
"We are deeply troubled by the serious charges filed against Aqib Talib,'' general manager Mark Dominik said. "Due to current labor circumstances, we will withhold any further comment or action."
The Gettysburg Address of Aqib Talib-related statements, I'm sure.
