This Is The Chiefs Organization's Second Murder-Suicide Of The Year
A tipster writes in about this murder-suicide, which happened in Tampa in September:
Luis Roberson had been working for the Chiefs in Stadium Ops for at least two years. Moved from his job working VIP guest relations at Disneyworld in Orlando to KC. He knew everyone in the organization and was well-liked. I do not believe that it ever came out in any news organization that he worked for the team.
(The organization did, in fact, give a comment at the time.)
From the Tampa Bay Times, who ID the man as Luis Roberson Rodriguez:
Kimble, 31, was returning from London, police say, where she had been visiting a new beau. Soon after she arrived in Tampa, she and Rodriguez, 39, started arguing. Investigators are not sure what the fight was about, only that it ended at about 7:45 p.m. in the West Shore area, when Rodriguez punched Kimble several times in the car.
She jumped out of the vehicle, and then, police say, Rodriguez shot her several times. He drove down the street, did a U-turn and shot himself in the head, police say. Both died at the hospital.
Also, on Sept. 15, an aggrieved boyfriend shot a Royals parking lot attendant at Kauffman Stadium, near Arrowhead, then killed himself. From the Kansas City Star:
A gunman shot a Kansas City Royals parking lot employee Friday afternoon outside Kauffman Stadium and then killed himself.
The female victim was working in Lot A about 3:20 p.m. when the attacker, believed to be her boyfriend or former boyfriend, approached with a gun, Kansas City police said.
Kansas City Police Det. Bruce Solomon said Saturday that he thinks the woman is "going to make it."
The gunman shot her once in the abdomen and returned to his car a short distance away, where he shot himself. He died at the scene. The woman was in critical condition and underwent surgery at a hospital.
