This Rude Tweet About The Knicks Is Factually Wrong But Spiritually Correct
ESPN’s NBA-focused Twitter account @ESPNNBA has been doing that thing where a Twitter account counts down the days until the beginning of some new season with photos that correspond to whatever number of days is left until the start of whatever is being anticipated. Today, the account tweeted an image to mark the NBA season starting up again in 17 days that turned out to be both entirely incorrect and extremely rude to the New York Knicks.
Here is the tweet, which was deleted:
Flagrantly dunking on the Knicks is hilarious in its own right, but this tweet is even better because the Knicks actually won 32 games last year. The team that won 17 games was the Lakers. You would be excused for assuming the tweet was correct, though, because the Knicks’ win total hovers around 17—in a spiritual sense, at least—pretty much every season.
