This Texas Rangers Broadcast Clip Will Someday Be Evidence In Divorce Proceedings

Fun stuff from tonight's Rangers-Mariners telecast—good, old-fashioned Texan chivalry.

Top of the 8th, sideline reporter Jim Knox of Fox Sports Southwest is interviewing its Progressive Fans of the Game, Matt and Taylor, who are getting married at the ballpark tomorrow, and are soused:

KNOX: You guys are getting married at the ballpark tomorrow morning. Matt, how does it feel? MATT: Uh, it's gonna be the worst day of my life. KNOX: Really? Wow, uh, you're gonna get some good remarks [sic?] for that one. Why the ballpark, Taylor? TAYLOR: This is actually my first time here, and we're really huge sports fans, so we decided this couldn't be a better place. MATT grabs KNOX and some dudes of various ages all around him. MATT: And these are my group [sic], right here are my boys. cheering KNOX: Maybe not after tonight, but here's the shirt, here's the hat. Congratulations. Progressive Fan of the Game. Way to go, Matt. Way to go, Taylor.

Yes, it is her first time at the place she's getting married, which is an odd and fairly masculine place to get married, and still her fiancé imagines it will be the worst day of his life. Yes, this marriage will go swell.

UPDATE: Dan Patrick Show producer Paul Pabst alerts us that he spoke with Rangers PR, who said that the couple has no official arrangement with the club to get married there. Rather, they were probably just planning to buy tickets and get married in the seats.
