Three Quarterbacks Who Could Go No. 1 Overall in the 2027 NFL Draft

With college football right around the corner, the conversation for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft intensifies.

It’s going to be a fun college football season, as the 2027 NFL Draft is expected to be loaded with talent throughout several different position groups. Of course, there will be a premium on the quarterback position, as the last few draft classes haven’t been very strong groups and plenty of NFL teams will be needy at the most important job in professional sports.

Unless a non-quarterback needy team (like the Las Vegas Raiders, who just selected Fernando Mendoza but still won’t be very good) lands the No. 1 overall pick, it’s likely that the conversation surrounding the top pick in the 2027 draft class involves just a few names.

Arch Manning, QB Texas

Right now on Kalshi, a popular prediction market that allows users to trade contracts of real-world outcomes, Manning has the best probability of being the No. 1 overall selection in 2027, with a 33% chance as of August 13.

During his first season as the full-time starter at Texas, Manning really figured things out towards the end of the year. Despite some whispers about an early exit for the NFL Draft, he returned to the Longhorns, who are expected to be one of college football’s top teams next year.

Manning enters this year as the Heisman favorite again. Last year’s slow start sabotaged his 2026 campaign. But getting superstar wide receiver Cam Coleman the football early in games will be paramount for Texas. With a Heisman campaign, and the pedigree behind the last name, it’s hard to beat Manning for the top pick in next year’s draft.

Dante Moore, QB, Oregon

Moore surprised the football universe when he declared to return to the Oregon Ducks.

There’s a chance that even Oregon was surprised, as they landed high-profile transfer Dylan Raiola before Moore returned for a final year with the Ducks.

The 21-year-old could’ve been side-stepping the New York Jets, who will undoubtedly be near the top of the draft board in 2027. They had the No. 2 overall selection and used it on Texas Tech EDGE David Bailey, so they still need a quarterback.

Unless Moore faces serious regression on a stacked Oregon team, it’s hard to see how he won’t be in the conversation for the top overall pick. Kalshi currently gives him a 17% of being selected No. 1 overall.

CJ Carr, QB, Notre Dame

Carr isn’t as big of a name as the other two quarterbacks on this list, getting just an 11% chance on Kalshi of being the No. 1 overall selection. But that doesn’t mean he’s not as talented.

Last year with Notre Dame, he completed 66% of his passes for 2,741 yards and 24 touchdowns with just six interceptions. He’s got prototypical NFL quarterback size and will make a team very happy, even if it’s not No. 1 overall.
