Top NBA Bets Today: Expert Picks for March 29 Slate

New York looks to bounce back from Thursday’s loss at Charlotte, snapping a seven-game winning streak.

Celtics/Hornets Over (215.5) - 6:00 p.m. ET

Charlotte dominated Boston the last time these teams met in early March at TD Garden, 118-89 as 6.5-point underdogs. That game remained Under the total of 214.5, the second Under in the two matchups this season.

The Hornets are riding a four-game Under streak, but three of those totals were 232.5 or higher. In those games, Charlotte and its opponents combined for at least 224 points, including falling short in a 118-114 home loss to Philadelphia on Saturday.

Boston held off Atlanta, 109-102 on Friday, but two of the last three road games have seen at least 229 combined points. Charlotte is averaging 116.1 points per game in the last eight games with no rest, so look for an Over between the Hornets and Celtics.

Trail Blazers (-15.5) vs. Wizards - 6:00 p.m. ET

Washington has been surprisingly competitive lately, routing Utah, followed by a five-point loss at Golden State on Friday. The Wizards continue their road trip in Portland, as the Blazers try to bounce back from a 100-93 home loss to Dallas.

In Portland’s last seven wins, the Blazers have covered the spread five times, including a pair of 30+ point victories against Brooklyn and Milwaukee. Portland looks to avenge a 115-111 defeat at Washington in January, as the Wizards hit 44% from three-point range.

The Wizards have covered the spread in three straight games once this season and although this is a big number, Portland should rebound here and blow out Washington.

Magic (+2.5) at Raptors - 6:00 p.m. ET

Orlando held off Sacramento, 121-117 on Thursday, but failed to cover as 15.5-point favorites. The Magic are 9-1 against the spread off a non-cover since early February, heading to Toronto tonight.

The Raptors knocked off the Pelicans on Friday, 119-106 in their first game back from a five-game road trip. Toronto and Orlando split a pair of matchups this season, as the Magic beat the Raptors, 130-120 in the last meeting on January 30.

Toronto seeks a fifth straight home victory, but this is its lowest favorite spot in this stretch. Let’s back Orlando here to cover as a short road underdog.
