Travis Wood Fucked Up His Finger In A Crossbow Accident And Damn It Looks Gross

Lower in this blog post is a really heinous photo of Tigers pitcher Travis Wood’s finger. It’s bad! I’m warning you here. I’ll even type some more words to force it further down the page so you don’t see it unless you’re trying to.

Wood busted the index finger on his right, non-pitching hand in a crossbow hunting accident last month. It was reported that the finger “nearly snapped in two.”

The finger’s still there, and he had the cast taken off today. At Tigers spring training, he showed off the mangled digit:

Wood had a rough season split between K.C. and San Diego, but he’s just one year removed from a solid year with the Cubs. If he makes the Tigers out of spring training, he could start or even work out of the bullpen.
