Tree-Poisoner Harvey Updyke Will Let You Throw A Pie At His Face
Harvey Updyke, best known for poisoning Auburn's famous oak trees at Toomer's Corner in 2010, will be giving Tigers fans a chance at revenge.
As part of a charity event to raise money for the family of John Oliver, a boy from Mobile, Alabama, who died of cancer, Updyke has agreed to sit in a dunk tank or let fans throw pies at his face. The reasons for his charitable turn are noble, according to his wife:
"He thought about it and thought about it," Updyke's wife, Elva, said. "His daughter said he needed to do it because it will show that he's not as big of a nut as some people believe. He told them they can do whatever they want to him if it will raise money for kids."
Throwing a pie at Updyke's face could surely be satisfying for Auburn fans, who had to watch their beloved oak tress removed from Toomer's Corner in 2013. I have a better idea, though. They should just put Updyke in full pads and make him spend an hour trying to tackle Bo Jackson.
