Tuiasosopo Family Member Says Ronaiah May Address His Involvement In Hoax
Peter Navy Tuiasosopo, Ronaiah's uncle, spoke to reporters outside Oasis Christian Church, where his brother (Ronaiah's father) is pastor, and told reporters there will be a family meeting later this week to discuss how Ronaiah should address his role in the Lennay Kukua hoax.
"We want to do it right," he said, also noting that the family has hired an attorney. He never directly mentioned the hoax or his nephew being involved. ... "We're just a family of faith. The family is holding up well," Peter Navy Tuiasosopo said. "They're holding up the way I would expect a family to. This is a storm."
Ronaiah was not identified in the church crowd and two witnesses indicated he was not present.
Manti Te'o will be meeting with Katie Couric this week for an interview to be aired Thursday and has denied any involvement in the hoax, instead claiming Ronaiah Tuiasosopo admitted to and apologized for duping him.
