Two Alabama Football Players Arrested On Drug And Weapons Charges
Alabama offensive tackle Cam Robinson and cornerback Hootie Jones were arrested in Louisiana early this morning. Both were charged with marijuana possession, and Robinson was also charged with felony illegal possession of stolen firearms.
According to AL.com, Robinson and Jones were arrested after police officers approached their car in a parking lot and smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. There was a bag of marijuana on the driver’s side floorboard, a handgun in Jones’s lap, and a stolen handgun underneath Robinson’s seat, police say.
Bleacher Report’s Barrett Sallee tweeted out both players’ inmate summaries:
Robinson is the team’s starting left tackle and was named to the All-SEC first team as a sophomore last year. Jones has been on the team for two seasons, but has played sparingly.
