Tyler Bilodeau's late 3 gives UCLA upset of No. 4 Purdue

Mandatory Credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-Imagn Images Tyler Bilodeau hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 8.4 seconds remaining and finished with 14 points as UCLA pulled off a signature victory by getting past No. 4 Purdue 69-67 on Tuesday at Los Angeles.
Donovan Dent scored 23 points with 13 assists and Eric Dailey Jr. added 12 points with seven rebounds, as the Bruins (13-6, 5-3 Big Ten) improved to 1-3 against ranked teams this season.
UCLA shot 56.9% from the floor in the game and 65.2% in the second half, closing on an 8-0 run over the final 1:32 to pull off the upset.
C.J. Cox scored 16 points and Braden Smith added 12 with four assists for the Boilermakers (17-2, 7-1), who saw their nine-game winning streak come to an end. Trey Kaufmann-Renn scored 10 points with seven rebounds and five assists.
Purdue took a 67-61 lead with 1:56 remaining after a layup from Kaufman-Renn but would not score again. Dent hit a 3-pointer to pull UCLA within 67-64 with 1:32 left, and Dailey made a fastbreak layup to get the Bruins within 67-66 with 1:05 left.
After a Boilermakers timeout, Smith turned the ball over with 32 seconds remaining and Bilodeau made his go-ahead 3-pointer with just over eight seconds remaining. Cox missed what would have been a game-winning 3-pointer just before the buzzer.
UCLA's largest lead of the second half was five points on two occasions, including 50-45 with 12:31 remaining after a jumper from Dailey.
Purdue's first lead of the second half came at 51-50 with 10:15 remaining after two free throws from Gicarri Harris.
The Bruins closed the first half on a 17-5 run to pull even 32-32 at halftime. UCLA received eight points and six assists from Dent in the first half, while Purdue did not have a player that scored more than five points.
UCLA was playing its fifth consecutive game without 3-point threat Skyy Clark, who has been out with a hamstring injury.
