UMass Basketball Player Motivated By Mom Shutting Off His Phone's Data
UMass guard Trey Davis hit a slump in the team’s recent schedule, with a .263 shooting percentage in the Minutemen’s three last losses. Davis broke out of his funk Wednesday night against New Orleans, however, torching the Privateers for 40 points in a 103-95 overtime win. After the game, the senior attributed his turnaround to his mom and her tactics.
Davis said that after he struggled against Florida Gulf Coast on Dec. 13, his mom shut off his phone’s data. Via MassLive:
“Man, my mom turned my phone off after the game we just lost,” Davis, who made 18 straight free throws in Wednesday night’s win, said. “She was mad. Talking about my free throws and all this other stuff.
“She said ‘Why are you missing free throws and all these jump shots?’ So she just turned my phone off and she told me ‘Get it together.’”
So, Davis got it together. Moms know best.
